To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

1 In thee, Jehovah, do I trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. 2 Incline thine ear to me, deliver me speedily; be a strong rock to me, a house of defence to save me. 3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; and, for thy name’s sake, thou wilt lead me and guide me. 4 Draw me out of the net that they have hidden for me; for thou art my strength. 5 Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah, thou ·God*GodHebrew: El of truth. 6 I have hated them that observe lying vanities; and as for me, I have confided in Jehovah. 7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy loving-kindness, for thou hast seen mine affliction; thou hast known the troubles of my soul, 8 And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large place.

9 Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am in trouble: mine eye wasteth away with vexation, my soul and my belly. 10 For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength faileth through mine iniquity, and my bones are wasted. 11 More than to all mine oppressors, I am become exceedingly a reproach, even to my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that see me without flee from me. 12 I am forgotten in their heart as a dead man; I am become like a broken vessel. 13 For I have heard the slander of many — terror on every side — when they take counsel together against me: they plot to take away my life. 14 But I confided in thee, Jehovah; I said, thou art my God*GodHebrew: Elohim15 My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from my persecutors. 16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; save me in thy loving-kindness. 17 Jehovah, let me not be ashamed; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in Sheol. 18 Let the lying lips become dumb, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.

19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee, before the sons of men! 20 Thou keepest them concealed in the secret of thy presence from the conspiracies of man; thou hidest them in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. 21 Blessed be Jehovah; for he hath shewn me wondrously his loving-kindness in a strong city. 22 As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes; nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. 23 Love Jehovah, all ye his saints. Jehovah preserveth the faithful, and plentifully requiteth the proud doer. 24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all ye that hope in Jehovah.

1 Doamne, în Tine*Ps. 22:5;25:2;71:1.Is. 49:23. mă încred: să nu fiu dat de rușine niciodată.

Izbăvește-mă, în*Ps. 143:1. dreptatea Ta!

2 Pleacă-Ți*Ps. 71:2. urechea spre mine, grăbește de-mi ajută!

Fii pentru mine o stâncă ocrotitoare, o cetățuie unde să-mi găsesc scăparea!

3 Căci*Ps. 18:2. Tu ești Stânca mea, Cetățuia mea

și, pentru*Ps. 23:3;25:11. Numele Tău, mă vei povățui și mă vei călăuzi.

4 Scoate-mă din lațul pe care mi l-au întins vrăjmașii,

căci Tu ești Ocrotitorul meu!

5 În mâinile*Luca 23:46.Fapte 7:59. Tale îmi încredințez duhul:

Tu mă vei izbăvi, Doamne Dumnezeule adevărat!

6 Eu urăsc pe cei ce*Iona 2:8. se lipesc de idoli deșerți

și mă încred în Domnul.

7 Fă-mă să mă veselesc și să mă bucur de îndurarea Ta,

căci vezi ticăloșia mea, știi*Ioan 10:27. neliniștea sufletului meu

8 și nu mă vei da*Deut. 32:30.1 Sam. 17:46;24:18. în mâinile vrăjmașului,

ci îmi vei pune picioarele*Ps. 4:1;18:19. la loc larg!

9 Ai milă de mine, Doamne, căci sunt în strâmtorare:

fața, sufletul și trupul mi s-au topit*Ps. 6:7. de întristare;

10 mi se sfârșește viața în durere și anii în suspine.

Mi s-au sleit puterile din pricina fărădelegii mele și-mi putrezesc oasele*Ps. 32:3;102:3.!

11 Din pricina potrivnicilor mei, am ajuns*Ps. 41:8.Is. 53:4. de ocară,

de mare ocară, pentru vecinii*Iov 19:13.Ps. 38:11;88:8,18. mei și de groază pentru prietenii mei;

cei ce*Ps. 64:8. mă văd pe uliță fug de mine.

12 Sunt uitat de*Ps. 88:4,5. inimi ca un mort,

am ajuns ca un vas sfărâmat.

13 Aud*Ier. 20:10. vorbele rele ale multora,

văd spaima*Ier. 6:25;20:3.Plâng. 2:22. care domnește împrejur,

când se sfătuiesc*Mat. 27:1. ei împreună împotriva mea

și uneltesc să-mi ia viața.

14 Dar eu mă încred în Tine, Doamne,

și zic: „Tu ești Dumnezeul meu!"

15 Soarta mea este în mâna Ta;

scapă-mă de vrăjmașii și de prigonitorii mei!

16 Fă*Num. 6:25,26.Ps. 4:6;67:1. să lumineze Fața Ta peste robul Tău,

scapă-mă prin îndurarea Ta!

17 Doamne, să nu*Ps. 25:2. rămân de rușine când Te chem,

ci să rămână de rușine cei răi și ei să se coboare muți*1 Sam. 2:9.Ps. 115:17. în Locuința morților!

18 Să amuțească*Ps. 12:3. buzele mincinoase,

care vorbesc*1 Sam. 2:3.Ps. 94:4.Iuda 15. cu îndrăzneală,

cu trufie și dispreț împotriva celui neprihănit!

19 O, cât*Is. 64:4.1 Cor. 2:9. de mare este bunătatea Ta, pe care o păstrezi pentru cei ce se tem de Tine

și pe care o arăți celor ce se încred

în Tine, în fața fiilor oamenilor!

20 Tu*Ps. 27:5;32:7. îi ascunzi la adăpostul Feței Tale de cei ce-i prigonesc,

îi*Iov 5:21. ocrotești în cortul Tău de limbile care-i clevetesc.

21 Binecuvântat să fie Domnul,

căci Și-a arătat în*Ps. 17:7. chip minunat îndurarea față de mine:

parc-aș fi fost într-o*1 Sam. 23:7. cetate întărită!

22 În*1 Sam. 23:26.Ps. 116:11. pornirea mea nechibzuită, ziceam: „Sunt izgonit*Is. 38:11,12.Plâng. 3:54.Iona 2:4. dinaintea Ta!"

Dar Tu ai auzit glasul rugăciunilor mele

când am strigat spre Tine.

23 Iubiți*Ps. 34:9. dar pe Domnul, toți cei iubiți de El,

căci Domnul păzește pe cei credincioși

și pedepsește aspru pe cei mândri!

24 Fiți tari*Ps. 27:14. și îmbărbătați-vă inima,

toți cei ce nădăjduiți în Domnul!
