1 Jehovah our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy majesty above the heavens. 2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established praise because of thine adversaries, to still the enemy and the avenger.

3 When I see thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast established; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and splendour. 6 Thou hast made him to rule over the works of thy hands; thou hast put everything under his feet: 7 Sheep and oxen, all of them, and also the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the heavens, and the fishes of the sea, whatever passeth through the paths of the seas. 9 Jehovah our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

1 Doamne, Dumnezeul nostru, cât de minunat*Ps. 148:13. este Numele Tău pe tot pământul!

Slava Ta se înalță*Ps. 113:4. mai presus de ceruri.

2 Din gura*Mat. 11:25;21:16.1 Cor. 1:27. copiilor și a celor ce sug la țâță, Ți-ai scos o întăritură de apărare

împotriva potrivnicilor tăi,

ca să astupi gura vrăjmașului*Ps. 44:14. și omului cu dor de răzbunare.

3 Când privesc*Ps. 111:2. cerurile – lucrarea mâinilor Tale –,

luna și stelele pe care le-ai făcut,

4 îmi zic: Ce este omul*Iov 7:17.Ps. 144:3.Evr. 2:6., ca să Te gândești la el?

Și fiul omului, ca să-l bagi în seamă?

5 L-ai făcut cu puțin mai prejos decât Dumnezeu

și l-ai încununat cu slavă și cu cinste.

6 I-ai dat stăpânire*Gen. 1:26,28. peste lucrurile mâinilor Tale,

toate*1 Cor. 15:27.Evr. 2:8. le-ai pus sub picioarele lui:

7 oile și boii laolaltă,

fiarele câmpului,

8 păsările cerului și peștii mării,

tot ce străbate cărările mărilor.

9 Doamne, Dumnezeul*Vers. 1. nostru,

cât de minunat este Numele Tău pe tot pământul!
