A Song of degrees. Of David.

1 If it had not been Jehovah who was for us — oh let Israel say — 2 If it had not been Jehovah who was for us, when men rose up against us, 3 Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; 4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, a torrent had gone over our soul; 5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

6 Blessed be Jehovah, who gave us not up a prey to their teeth! 7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we have escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of Jehovah, the maker of heavens and earth.

O cântare a treptelor.

Un psalm al lui David

1 De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră,

să spună*Ps. 129:1. Israel acum!

2 De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră

când s-au ridicat oamenii împotriva noastră,

3 ne-ar*Ps. 56:1,2;57:3.Prov. 1:12. fi înghițit de vii

când li s-a aprins mânia împotriva noastră;

4 ne-ar fi înecat apele,

ar fi trecut râurile peste sufletul nostru;

5 ar fi trecut peste sufletul nostru valurile năprasnice.

6 Binecuvântat să fie Domnul,

care nu ne-a dat pradă dinților lor!

7 Sufletul ne-a scăpat ca*Ps. 91:3.Prov. 6:5. pasărea din lațul păsărarului;

lațul s-a rupt, și noi am scăpat.

8 Ajutorul*Ps. 121:2. nostru este în Numele Domnului,

care*Gen. 1:1.Ps. 134:3. a făcut cerurile și pământul.
