To the chief Musician. ‘Destroy not.’ A Psalm of Asaph: a Song.

1 Unto thee we give thanks, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim we give thanks; and thy name is near: thy marvellous works declare it. 2 When I shall receive the assembly, I will judge with equity. 3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have established its pillars. Selah. 4 I said unto the boastful, Boast not; and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: 5 Lift not up your horn on high; speak not arrogantly with a stiff neck.

6 For not from the east nor from the west, nor yet from the south doth exaltation come: 7 For God*GodHebrew: Elohim is the judge; he putteth down one and exalteth another. 8 For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and it foameth with wine, it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof shall all the wicked of the earth drain off, and drink. 9 But as for me, I will declare for ever; I will sing psalms to the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Jacob. 10 And all the horns of the wicked will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

Către mai-marele cântăreților.

„Nu nimici". Un psalm al lui Asaf. O cântare

1 Te lăudăm, Dumnezeule, Te lăudăm;

noi, care chemăm Numele Tău,

vestim minunile Tale!

2 „Atunci când va veni vremea hotărâtă", zice Domnul,

„voi judeca fără părtinire.

3 Poate să se cutremure pământul cu locuitorii lui,

căci Eu îi întăresc stâlpii." (Oprire)

4 Eu zic celor ce se fălesc: „Nu vă făliți!"

și celor răi: „Nu*Zah. 1:21. ridicați capul sus!"

5 Nu vă ridicați capul așa de sus,

nu vorbiți cu atâta trufie!

6 Căci nici de la răsărit, nici de la apus,

nici din pustie nu vine înălțarea.

7 Ci Dumnezeu*Ps. 50:6;58:11. este Cel ce judecă:

El*1 Sam. 2:7.Dan. 2:21. coboară pe unul și înalță pe altul.

8 În mâna Domnului este un*Iov 21:20.Ps. 60:3.Ier. 25:15.Apoc. 14:10;16:19. potir în care fierbe un vin plin de*Prov. 23:30. amestecătură.

Când îl varsă,

toți cei răi de pe pământ sug, îl sorb și-l beau până în fund*Ps. 73:10.!

9 Eu însă voi vesti pururea aceste lucruri,

voi cânta laude în cinstea Dumnezeului lui Iacov

10 și voi doborî toate*Ps. 101:8.Ier. 48:25. puterile celor răi:

puterile*Ps. 89:17;148:14. celui neprihănit însă se vor înălța.
