Ko Ihowā me Tāna Kīngi i Whiriwhiri

1 I mea a Ihowā ki tōku Ariki,

"Hei tōku matau koe noho ai,

hei tūranga waewae mōu."

2 Mā Ihowā e tono mai te tokotoko o tōu kaha i Hiona;

hei rangatira koe i waenganui i ōu hoariri.

3 Ka kakama tōu iwi ki te tāpae atu i a rātou

i te rā o tōu kaha,

i te ātaahua o ngā mea tapu.

Nō te kōpū mai o te ata,

kei a koe te tōmairangi o tōu whanaketanga.

4 Kua oati a Ihowā, e kore anō tāna e puta kē;

"Hei tohunga koe ake ake, nō te tikanga o Merekihereke."

5 Kei tōu matau te Ariki;

ka marū i a ia ngā kīngi i te rā e riri ai ia.

6 E whakawā ia i waenganui i ngā tauiwi;

e whakakīia e ia ngā whenua ki te tūpāpaku;

ka marū i a ia ngā upoko

i ngā whenua maha.

7 Ka inu wai ia i te awa i te ara,

ā, ka ara tōna mātenga.

A Psalm of David.

1 Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,

Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

2 Jehovah will send forth the rod of thy strength out of Zion:

Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

3 Thy people offer themselves willingly

In the day of thy power, in holy array:

Out of the womb of the morning

Thou hast the dew of thy youth.

4 Jehovah hath sworn, and will not repent:

Thou art a priest for ever

After the order of Melchizedek.

5 The Lord at thy right hand

Will strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

6 He will judge among the nations,

He will fill the places with dead bodies;

He will strike through the head in many countries.

7 He will drink of the brook in the way:

Therefore will he lift up the head.
