Salmos 54

He Īnoi mō te Whakawāteatanga

Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi: Nekinoto. He Makiri, nā Rāwiri i te haerenga o ngā Tiwhi ki a Haora, kī ai, "He teka ianei kei a mātou a Rāwiri e piri ana?"

1 E te Atua, kia whakaorangia ahau e tōu ingoa;

kia whakawākia hoki ahau e tōu kaha.

2 E te Atua, whakarongo ki tāku īnoi,

tahuri mai tōu taringa ki ngā kupu a tōku māngai.

3 Nō te mea kua whakatika mai ngā tāngata iwi kē ki ahau,

ā, e whāia ana tōku wairua e te hunga tūkino;

kāhore i waiho e rātou te Atua ki tō rātou aroaro. Hera

4 Tēnei te Atua hei kaiāwhina mōku;

kei roto te Ariki i te hunga e tautoko ake ana i tōku wairua.

5 Māna e utu te kino o ōku hoariri;

hunā rātou, he pono nei hoki koe.

6 Ka kakama ahau ki te mea patunga tapu ki a koe,

ka whakamoemiti ki tōu ingoa, e Ihowā,

he mea pai hoki.

7 Kua whakaorangia hoki ahau e ia i roto i ngā hē katoa;

ā, kua titiro tōku kanohi ki te mea e hiahia ana ahau ki ōku hoariri.

1 Save me, O God, by thy name,

And judge me in thy might.

2 Hear my prayer, O God;

Give ear to the words of my mouth.

3 For strangers are risen up against me,

And violent men have sought after my soul:

They have not set God before them. [Selah

4 Behold, God is my helper:

The Lord is of them that uphold my soul.

5 He will requite the evil unto mine enemies:

Destroy thou them in thy truth.

6 With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto thee:

I will give thanks unto thy name, O Jehovah, for it is good.

7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble;

And mine eye hath seen my desire upon mine enemies.
