Te Manako mō te Whare o te Atua
Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. Kititi. He hīmene mā ngā tama a Koraha.
1 Anō te ātaahua o ōu tapenākara,
e Ihowā o ngā mano!
2 E hiahia ana tōku wairua, āe, e hemo ana
ki ngā marae o Ihowā;
e tangi ana tōku ngākau
me ōku kikokiko ki te Atua ora.
3 Me te pīhoihoi hoki kua kite i tētahi whare,
me te warou anō hoki i tētahi ōhanga mōna,
hei takotoranga mō āna pī,
arā i āu āta, e Ihowā o ngā mano,
e tōku Kīngi, e tōku Atua.
4 Ka hari te hunga e noho ana i tōu whare;
he whakamoemiti tonu tā rātou ki a koe. Hera
5 Ka hari te tangata ko tōna kaha nei kei a koe;
kei roto i ō rātou ngākau ngā huarahi ki reira.
6 Ka haere rātou rā te Raorao o Paka,
ka meinga e rātou hei puna;
ngaro iho anō hoki ngā poka i te ua.
7 Ka haere atu rātou i te kaha ki te kaha;
ka kitea rātou ki te aroaro o te Atua i Hiona.
8 E Ihowā, e te Atua o ngā mano, whakarongo ki tāku īnoi;
tahuri mai tōu taringa, e te Atua o Hākopa. Hera
9 Titiro mai, e te Atua, e tō mātou whakangungu rākau;
tirohia iho hoki te mata o tāu tangata i whakawahi ai.
10 Nō te mea, he rā kotahi i ōu whare,
pai atu i ngā rā kotahi mano.
Te tiaki tatau i te whare o tōku Atua,
pai atu ki ahau i te noho ki ngā tēneti o te kino.
11 He rā hoki a Ihowā te Atua, he whakangungu rākau;
ka hōmai e Ihowā te atawhai me te korōria.
E kore e kaiponuhia e ia tētahi mea pai
ki te hunga e tapatahi ana te haere.
12 E Ihowā o ngā mano,
ka hari te tangata e whakawhirinaki ana ki a koe.
For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1 How amiable are thy tabernacles,
O Jehovah of hosts!
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah;
My heart and my flesh cry out unto the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found her a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
Even thine altars, O Jehovah of hosts,
My King, and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house:
They will be still praising thee. [Selah
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee;
In whose heart are the highways to Zion.
6 Passing through the valley of Weeping they make it a place of springs;
Yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings.
7 They go from strength to strength;
Every one of them appeareth before God in Zion.
8 O Jehovah God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O God of Jacob. [Selah
9 Behold, O God our shield,
And look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield:
Jehovah will give grace and glory;
No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Jehovah of hosts,
Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
