He Hīmene Kotinga

Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He hīmene, he waiata nā Rāwiri.

1 E tāria ana koe, e te Atua, e te whakamoemiti i Hiona;

ā, ka whakamanā te kupu taurangi ki a koe.

2 E te kaiwhakarongo īnoi,

e haere ngā kikokiko katoa ki a koe.

3 E kaha ake ana i ahau ngā kino;

ā mātou mahi tutū, māu ēnā e hīpoki.

4 Ka hari te tangata e whiriwhiria e koe,

e meatia e koe kia tata atu ki a koe,

kia noho i roto i ōu marae.

Ka mākona mātou i te pai o tōu whare,

o tōu temepara tapu.

5 He mea whakawehi, he tapu, tāu utu kupu ki a mātou,

e te Atua o tō mātou whakaoranga,

e te okiokinga o ngā pito katoa o te whenua,

o te hunga hoki i tawhiti i runga o te moana;

6 e whakaū nei i ngā maunga, he kaha hoki nōna;

tōna whītiki nei he kaha.

7 E whakamārie nei i te haruru o ngā moana,

i te haruru o ō rātou ngaru, i te ngangau hoki o ngā iwi.

8 Ka wehi anō ki āu tohu te hunga e noho ana i ngā pito rawa;

hari ana i a koe ngā pūtake o te ata, o te ahiahi.

9 E tirotirohia ana e koe te whenua,

e whakamākūkūria ana,

e whakamōmonatia nuitia ana e koe;

kī tonu te awa o te Atua i te wai;

oti rawa ake te whakapai e koe,

kua rite mai i a koe he wīti mō aua wāhi.

10 Mākūkū rawa i a koe ōna moa,

e manaakitia ana e koe tōna pihinga ake.

11 E karaunatia ana e koe te tau ki tōu pai;

12 E māturuturu ana ki ngā wāhi kai o te koraha;

ā, whītikiria ana ngā pukepuke ki te koa.

13 He hipi te kākahu o ngā wāhi kai;

ngaro ana ngā raorao i te wīti.

1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion;

And unto thee shall the vow be performed.

2 O thou that hearest prayer,

Unto thee shall all flesh come.

3 Iniquities prevail against me:

As for our transgressions, thou wilt forgive them.

4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee,

That he may dwell in thy courts:

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house,

Thy holy temple.

5 By terrible things thou wilt answer us in righteousness,

O God of our salvation,

Thou that art the confidence of all the ends of the earth,

And of them that are afar off upon the sea:

6 Who by his strength setteth fast the mountains,

Being girded about with might;

7 Who stilleth the roaring of the seas,

The roaring of their waves,

And the tumult of the peoples.

8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens:

Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it,

Thou greatly enrichest it;

The river of God is full of water:

Thou providest them grain, when thou hast so prepared the earth.

10 Thou waterest its furrows abundantly;

Thou settlest the ridges thereof:

Thou makest it soft with showers;

Thou blessest the springing thereof.

11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness;

And thy paths drop fatness.

12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness;

And the hills are girded with joy.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks;

The valleys also are covered over with grain;

They shout for joy, they also sing.
