Te Kīngi Nui

He hīmene nā Rāwiri.

1 Nō Ihowā te whenua, me ōna tini mea,

te ao, me ngā tāngata e noho ana i runga.

Ko wai e tū ki tōna wāhi tapu?

4 Ko te tangata he mā nei ngā ringa, he harakore tōna ngākau,

kāhore nei i ara tōna wairua ki te horihori,

ā, kāhore i oati teka.

5 Ka riro i a ia te manaaki a Ihowā,

me te tika a te Atua o tōna whakaoranga.

6 Ko te whakatupuranga tēnei o te hunga e rapu ana ki a ia,

e rapu nei i tōu mata, e Hākopa. Hera

7 Kia ara ō koutou mātenga, e ngā tatau,

ara ake, e ngā tatau onamata;

ā, ka tomo te Kīngi o te korōria.

8 Ko wai tēnei Kīngi korōria? Ko Ihowā, ko te kaha,

ko te mārohirohi, ko Ihowā, ko te mārohirohi ki te whawhai.

9 Kia ara ō koutou mātenga, e ngā tatau,

kia ara ake, e ngā tatau onamata,

ā, ka tomo te Kīngi o te korōria.

10 Ko wai tēnei Kīngi korōria?

1 The earth is Jehovah’s, and the fulness thereof;

The world, and they that dwell therein.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas,

And established it upon the floods.

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of Jehovah?

And who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;

Who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood,

And hath not sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive a blessing from Jehovah,

And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation of them that seek after him,

That seek thy face, even Jacob. [Selah

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates;

And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors:

And the King of glory will come in.

8 Who is the King of glory?

Jehovah strong and mighty,

Jehovah mighty in battle.

And the King of glory will come in.

10 Who is this King of glory?

Jehovah of hosts,

He is the King of glory. [Selah
