He Īnoi mō te Whakaoranga
Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi: Huhana Erutu. He Mikitama nā Rāwiri, hei whakaako. Nō tāna whawhaitanga ki a Aramanaharaima rāua ko Aramatopa. Nā, hoki ana a Ioapa, ā, patua ana e ia a Ēroma ki te Raorao Tote, kotahi tekau mā rua mano.
1 E te Atua, kua panga mātou e koe, kua oti mātou te whakamarara e koe,
kua riri koe; tahuri mai anō ki a mātou!
2 Wiri ana te whenua i a koe, kua ngātata i a koe;
whakakapia ōna wāhi pakaru, e rū ana hoki.
3 He mea pakeke kua whakakitea e koe ki tāu iwi,
kua oti mātou te whakainu e koe ki te wāina e wiri ai.
4 Kua hōmai e koe he kara ki te hunga e wehi ana i a koe;
kia whakakitea hei mea mō te pono. Hera
5 Hei mea e mawhiti ai āu e aroha ai;
mā tōu matau e whakaora,
whakahokia mai hoki he kupu ki ahau.
6 Kua kōrero te Atua i runga i tōna tapu;
"Ka hari ahau, ka kotikoti i Hekeme,
ka roherohe hoki i te raorao o Hukota.
7 Nōku Kireara, nōku anō a Mānahi,
ko Ēparaima anō hoki te kaha o tōku mātenga;
ko Hūrā tāku kaiwhakatakoto ture;
8 ko Moapa tāku oko horoi;
ka makā e ahau tōku hū ki runga ki Ēroma;
e Pirihitia, ko ahau hei whakamanamana māu."
9 Mā wai ahau e kawe ki te pā kaha?
Nā wai ahau i ārahi ki Ēroma?
10 He teka rānei, e te Atua, kua pangā mātou e koe?
Kāhore hoki koe, e te Atua, e haere tahi me ā mātou taua.
11 Hōmai he āwhina mō mātou ki ō mātou hoariri;
he teka noa hoki te āwhina a te tangata.
12 Mā te Atua tātou ka toa ai;
māna hoki e takahi ki raro ō tātou hoa whawhai.
For the Chief Musician; set to Shushan Eduth. Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt twelve thousand.
1 O God thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down;
Thou hast been angry; oh restore us again.
2 Thou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it:
Heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 Thou hast showed thy people hard things:
Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee,
That it may be displayed because of the truth. [Selah
5 That thy beloved may be delivered,
Save with thy right hand, and answer us.
6 God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult;
I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine;
Ephraim also is the defence of my head;
Judah is my sceptre.
8 Moab is my washpot;
Upon Edom will I cast my shoe:
Philistia, shout thou because of me.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city?
Who hath led me unto Edom?
10 Hast not thou, O God, cast us off?
And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.
11 Give us help against the adversary;
For vain is the help of man.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly;
For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
