He Kotinga o te Hari
He waiata; he pikitanga.
1 I tā Ihowā whakahokinga mai i ngā pononga o Hiona
i rite mātou ki te hunga e moehewa ana.
2 Kātahi tō mātou māngai ka kī i te kata,
tō mātou arero hoki i te waiata;
kātahi ka kōrerotia i roto i ngā tauiwi,
"He nui ngā mahi a Ihowā ki a rātou."
3 He mea nunui a Ihowā i mea ai mō tātou,
ā, e koa ana tātou.
4 E Ihowā, whakahokia mātou i te whakarau;
kia pērā me ngā awa o te tonga.
5 Ko te hunga e rui ana i runga i te roimata,
ka kokoti i runga i te hari.
6 Ahakoa haere tangi atu ia
me te kawe i āna purapura hei whakatōkanga,
tērā ia e haere hari mai anō
me te mau mai i āna paihere.
A Song of Ascents.
1 When Jehovah brought back those that returned to Zion,
We were like unto them that dream.
2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing:
Then said they among the nations,
Jehovah hath done great things for them.
3 Jehovah hath done great things for us,
Whereof we are glad.
4 Turn again our captivity, O Jehovah,
As the streams in the South.
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
