Te Kīngi Tapu

1 Ko Ihowā te Kīngi;

kia wiri ngā iwi;

E noho ana ia i waenganui i ngā kerupima;

kia ngāueue te whenua.

2 He nui a Ihowā i Hiona;

kei runga ake ia i ngā iwi katoa.

3 Kia whakamoemiti rātou ki tōu ingoa nui, whakamataku.

He tapu ia!

4 E matenui ana hoki te kaha o te kīngi ki te whakawā tika;

ko koe hei whakapūmau i te pono;

he whakawā tika,

he hēkore tāu mahi i roto i a Hākopa.

5 Whakanuia a Ihowā, tō tātou Atua;

koropiko ki tōna tūranga waewae.

He tapu ia!

6 Ko Mohi rāua ko Ārona i roto i āna tohunga,

me Hamuera i roto i te hunga e karanga ana ki tōna ingoa.

I karanga rātou ki a Ihowā, ā, whakahoki kupu ana mai ia ki a rātou.

7 I kōrero ia ki a rātou i roto i te pou kapua;

i pupuri rātou i āna whakaaturanga,

i te tikanga i whakatakotoria e ia ki a rātou.

8 E Ihowā, e tō mātou Atua,

i whakahoki kupu koe ki a rātou;

he Atua tohu koe i a rātou,

otiia, i rapu utu anō koe mō ā rātou mahi.

9 Whakanuia ā Ihowā, tō tātou Atua,

koropiko atu i tōna maunga tapu;

he tapu hoki ā Ihowā, tō tātou Atua.

1 Jehovah reigneth; let the peoples tremble:

He sitteth above the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

2 Jehovah is great in Zion;

And he is high above all the peoples.

3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name:

Holy is he.

4 The king’s strength also loveth justice;

Thou dost establish equity;

Thou executest justice and righteousness in Jacob.

5 Exalt ye Jehovah our God,

And worship at his footstool:

Holy is he.

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests,

And Samuel among them that call upon his name;

They called upon Jehovah, and he answered them.

7 He spake unto them in the pillar of cloud:

They kept his testimonies,

And the statute that he gave them.

8 Thou answeredst them, O Jehovah our God:

Thou wast a God that forgavest them,

Though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.

9 Exalt ye Jehovah our God,

And worship at his holy hill;

For Jehovah our God is holy.
