He Īnoi i mua i te Whawhai

Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He hīmene nā Rāwiri.

1 Mā Ihowā e whakahoki he kupu ki a koe i te rā o te hē;

mā te ingoa o te Atua o Hākopa koe e tiaki.

2 Māna e tono mai he āwhina mōu i te wāhi tapu,

3 Māna e mahara ki āu whakahere katoa,

e manako ki āu tahunga tinana. Hera

4 Māna e hōmai ki a koe tā tōu ngākau e mea ai,

e whakamana katoa hoki tāu e wawata ai.

5 Ka hari mātou ki tāu whakaoranga,

ka whakatū hoki i ō mātou kara

i runga i te ingoa o tō mātou Atua.

Mā Ihowā e whakarite āu īnoi katoa.

6 Kātahi ahau ka mātau e whakaora ana a Ihowā i tāna tangata i whakawahi ai,

ka whakahoki kupu ia ki a ia i tōna rangi tapu,

me te kaha anō tōna ringa matau ki te whakaora.

7 Ko tā ētahi he hāriata, ko tā ētahi he hōiho;

ko tātou ia ka whakahua i te ingoa o Ihowā, o tō tātou Atua.

8 Kua piko rātou, kua hinga

ko tātou ia kua ara, kua tū ki runga.

9 Whakaorangia, e Ihowā;

kia whakahoki kupu mai te Kīngi ina karanga mātou.

1 Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble;

The name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;

2 Send thee help from the sanctuary,

And strengthen thee out of Zion;

3 Remember all thy offerings,

And accept thy burnt-sacrifice; [Selah

4 Grant thee thy heart’s desire,

And fulfil all thy counsel.

5 We will triumph in thy salvation,

And in the name of our God we will set up our banners:

Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that Jehovah saveth his anointed;

He will answer him from his holy heaven

With the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;

But we will make mention of the name of Jehovah our God.

8 They are bowed down and fallen;

But we are risen, and stand upright.

9 Save, Jehovah:

Let the King answer us when we call.
