Te Kāinga Koa o te Hunga Whakapono

He waiata; he pikitanga.

1 Ka hari ngā tāngata katoa e wehi ana i a Ihowā,

e haere ana i āna ara.

2 E kai hoki koe i te mahinga a ōu ringa;

e hari koe, ā, ka tau te pai ki a koe.

3 E rite tāu wahine ki te wāina hua

i roto rawa i tōu whare;

āu tamariki ki ngā māhuri ōriwa,

i ngā taha o tāu tēpu.

4 Nā, he pērā te manaaki mō te tangata

e wehi ana i a Ihowā.

5 Ka manaakitia koe e Ihowā i Hiona;

ā, e kite koe i te pai o Hiruhārama

i ngā rā katoa e ora ai koe.

6 Āe, e kite koe i ngā tamariki a āu tamariki.

A Song of Ascents.

1 Blessed is every one that feareth Jehovah,

That walketh in his ways.

2 For thou shalt eat the labor of thy hands:

Happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine,

In the innermost parts of thy house;

Thy children like olive plants,

Round about thy table.

4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed

That feareth Jehovah.

5 Jehovah bless thee out of Zion:

And see thou the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

6 Yea, see thou thy children’s children.
