Tā Rāwiri Waiata Manahau
Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He hīmene nā te pononga a Ihowā nā Rāwiri. Nāna i whakahua ngā kupu o tēnei waiata ki a Ihowā i te rā i whakaorangia ai ia i te ringa o ōna hoariri katoa, i te ringa anō o Haora. I mea ia:
1 Ka aroha ahau ki a koe, e Ihowā,
e tōku kaha.
2 Ko Ihowā tōku kāmaka, tōku pā, tōku kaiwhakaora;
tōku Atua, tōku tino kāmaka, e whakawhirinaki ai ahau;
tōku whakangungu rākau, te haona o tōku whakaoranga, tōku pourewa tiketike.
3 Ka karanga ahau ki a Ihowā, e tika nei kia whakamoemititia;
ā, ka ora i ōku hoariri.
4 I karapotia ahau e ngā whakawiringa a te mate,
ā, whakawehia ana ahau e ngā waipuke o te kino.
5 I karapotia ahau e ngā whakawiringa a te rēinga,
i haukotia e ngā māhanga a te mate.
6 I karanga ahau ki a Ihowā i tōku pāweratanga;
i hāmama ki tōku Atua.
I whakarongo ia ki tōku reo i roto i tōna temepara,
i tae anō tāku hāmama ki tōna aroaro, ki ōna taringa.
7 Nā, ka ngāueue te whenua, ka rū,
wiri ana ngā pūtake o ngā maunga,
ngāueue ana i tōna riri.
8 I kake he paowa i ōna pongaponga,
ā, kai ana te kāpura a tōna māngai,
ngiha ana ngā waro.
9 I whakapīngoretia e ia ngā rangi, ā, heke iho ana,
ā, i raro te pōuri mātotoru i ōna waewae.
10 I eke ia ki runga ki te kerupa, ā, rere ana;
āe, i rere omaki ia i runga i ngā parirau o te hau.
11 I meinga e ia te pōuri hei wāhi ngaro mōna,
hei tēneti i tētahi taha ōna, i tētahi taha;
ko te pōuritanga o ngā wai, ko ngā kapua mātotoru o te rangi.
12 I rere atu ōna kapua mātotoru
i te wherikotanga o tōna aroaro;
te whatu, me ngā waro kāpura.
13 I papā anō te whatitiri a Ihowā i ngā rangi,
ā, puaki ana te reo o te Runga Rawa;
he whatu, he waro kāpura.
14 I kōkiritia e ia āna pere, ā, marara ana rātou;
āe, i kōperea hoki e ia te tini uira,
ā, whati ana rātou.
15 Kātahi ka kitea ngā takere o ngā wai,
ā, ka takoto kau ngā pūtake o te ao
i tāu whakatūpehupehutanga, e Ihowā,
i te whengunga o te manawa o ōu pongaponga.
16 I tono karere mai ia i runga, ka mau ki ahau;
tōia ake ahau e ia i roto i ngā wai maha.
17 Nāna ahau i ora ai i tōku hoariri kaha,
i te hunga e kino ana ki ahau;
he kaha rawa hoki rātou i ahau.
18 I huakina tatatia ahau e rātou i te rā o tōku matenga;
ko Ihowā ia tōku whakawhirinakitanga.
19 I whakaputaina ahau e ia ki te wāhi nui,
i whakaorangia ahau e ia; he āhuareka nōna ki ahau.
20 Rite tonu ki tāku mahi tika tā Ihowā utu ki ahau;
rite tonu ki te mā o ōku ringa tāna i whakahoki ai ki ahau.
21 Mōku i pupuri i ngā ara o Ihowā,
ā, kīhai i hē, i whakarere i tōku Atua.
22 Kei mua tonu hoki i ahau āna whakaritenga katoa,
kīhai anō i whakamataratia atu i ahau āna tikanga.
23 Tapatahi tonu hoki tōku whakaaro ki tōna aroaro,
ā, i tiaki ahau i ahau kei kino.
24 Nā, ka hōmai e Ihowā he utu ki ahau,
rite tonu ki tōku tika,
ki te mā o ōku ringa i tōna aroaro.
25 He tangata atawhai, ka atawhai hoki koe;
he tangata tika, ka tika hoki koe.
26 He tangata mā, ka mā hoki koe;
he tangata whakakeke, ka whakakeke hoki koe.
27 E whakaorangia hoki e koe te iwi ngākau mamae;
ka whakahokia anō e koe ki raro ngā kanohi whakakake.
28 Māu hoki e whakaū tāku rama;
mā Ihowā, mā tōku Atua, e whakamārama tōku pōuri.
29 Nāu hoki ahau i rere ai nā waenganui atu i te rōpū;
nā tōku Atua hoki i pekea ai e ahau te taiepa.
30 Tēnā ko te Atua, tika tonu tōna ara;
kua oti tāna kupu te whakamātau;
he whakangungu rākau ia
i mea kia tino tika tōku ara.
33 Ko ia hei mea i ōku waewae kia rite ki ō te hāta;
māna hoki ahau e whakatū ki runga ki ōku wāhi tiketike.
34 Ko ia hei whakaako i ōku ringa ki te whawhai,
ā, whati ana te kōpere parāhi i ōku ringa.
35 Kua hōmai anō e koe ki ahau te whakangungu rākau o tāu whakaoranga;
puritia ana ahau e tōu ringa matau,
whakanuia ana e tōu whakaaro māhaki.
36 I whakanuia e koe ōku takahanga i raro i ahau;
tē paheke ōku waewae.
37 Ka arumia e ahau ōku hoariri, mau iho i ahau;
e kore ahau e tahuri mai, ā ngaro noa rātou.
38 Marū ana rātou i ahau, tē kaha te whakatika;
hinga ana ki raro i ōku waewae.
39 Nāu hoki ahau i whītiki ki te kaha mō te whawhai;
41 I karanga rātou, heoi kāhore he kaiwhakaora;
ki a Ihowā, otirā kīhai i whakahoki kupu ki a rātou.
42 Nā, ka tukia rātou e ahau ā rite noa rātou ki te puehu e pūhia ana e te hau;
ākiritia atu ana rātou ki waho, ānō he paru nō te huarahi.
43 Kua whakaorangia ahau e koe i ngā ngangautanga a te iwi;
kua meinga e koe hei rangatira mō ngā tauiwi;
hei apa mōku te iwi kāhore i mātauria e ahau.
44 Kia rongo kau te taringa ki ahau, ka kakama tonu mai rātou ki ahau;
ko ngā tāngata iwi kē ngohe kau ki ahau.
45 Ka memeha haere ngā tāngata iwi kē;
ka puta wehi mai hoki i roto i ō rātou kuhunga.
46 E ora ana a Ihowā; kia whakapaingia hoki tōku kāmaka,
kia whakanuia te Atua o tōku whakaoranga;
47 ko te Atua, māna nei e rapu he utu mōku,
māna e pēhi ngā iwi ki raro i ahau.
48 Māna ahau e mawhiti ai i ōku hoariri,
āe rā, māu ahau e mea kia teitei ake i te hunga e whakatika mai ana ki ahau;
ka whakaorangia ahau e koe i te tangata tutū.
49 Mō konei ka whakawhetai ahau ki a koe, e Ihowā, i waenganui i ngā tauiwi;
ka hīmene ki tōu ingoa.
50 He nui nei tāna whakaora i tāna kīngi;
e whakaputa aroha ana ki tāna tangata i whakawahi ai,
ki a Rāwiri rātou ko ōna uri ake ake.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of Jehovah, who spake unto Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: and he said,
1 I love thee, O Jehovah, my strength.
2 Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge;
My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
3 I will call upon Jehovah, who is worthy to be praised:
So shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The cords of death compassed me,
And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
5 The cords of Sheol were round about me;
The snares of death came upon me.
6 In my distress I called upon Jehovah,
And cried unto my God:
He heard my voice out of his temple,
And my cry before him came into his ears.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled;
The foundations also of the mountains quaked
And were shaken, because he was wroth.
8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils,
And fire out of his mouth devoured:
Coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down;
And thick darkness was under his feet.
10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly;
Yea, he soared upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his hiding-place, his pavilion round about him,
Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
12 At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed,
Hailstones and coals of fire.
13 Jehovah also thundered in the heavens,
And the Most High uttered his voice,
Hailstones and coals of fire.
14 And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them;
Yea, lightnings manifold, and discomfited them.
15 Then the channels of waters appeared,
And the foundations of the world were laid bare,
At thy rebuke, O Jehovah,
At the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
16 He sent from on high, he took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy,
And from them that hated me; for they were too mighty for me.
18 They came upon me in the day of my calamity;
But Jehovah was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place;
He delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20 Jehovah hath rewarded me according to my righteousness;
According to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
21 For I have kept the ways of Jehovah,
And have not wickedly departed from my God.
22 For all his ordinances were before me,
And I put not away his statutes from me.
23 I was also perfect with him,
And I kept myself from mine iniquity.
24 Therefore hath Jehovah recompensed me according to my righteousness,
According to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
25 With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful;
With the perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;
26 With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure;
And with the perverse thou wilt show thyself froward.
27 For thou wilt save the afflicted people;
But the haughty eyes thou wilt bring down.
28 For thou wilt light my lamp:
Jehovah my God will lighten my darkness.
29 For by thee I run upon a troop;
And by my God do I leap over a wall.
30 As for God, his way is perfect:
The word of Jehovah is tried;
He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in him.
31 For who is God, save Jehovah?
And who is a rock, besides our God,
32 The God that girdeth me with strength,
And maketh my way perfect?
33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet:
And setteth me upon my high places.
34 He teacheth my hands to war;
So that mine arms do bend a bow of brass.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation;
And thy right hand hath holden me up,
And thy gentleness hath made me great.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me,
And my feet have not slipped.
37 I will pursue mine enemies, and overtake them;
Neither will I turn again till they are consumed.
38 I will smite them through, so that they shall not be able to rise:
They shall fall under my feet.
39 For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle:
Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
40 Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me,
That I might cut off them that hate me.
41 They cried, but there was none to save;
Even unto Jehovah, but he answered them not.
42 Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind;
I did cast them out as the mire of the streets.
43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people;
Thou hast made me the head of the nations:
A people whom I have not known shall serve me.
44 As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me;
The foreigners shall submit themselves unto me.
45 The foreigners shall fade away,
And shall come trembling out of their close places.
46 Jehovah liveth; and blessed be my rock;
And exalted be the God of my salvation,
47 Even the God that executeth vengeance for me,
And subdueth peoples under me.
48 He rescueth me from mine enemies;
Yea, thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me;
Thou deliverest me from the violent man.
49 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the nations,
And will sing praises unto thy name.
50 Great deliverance giveth he to his king,
And showeth lovingkindness to his anointed,
To David and to his seed, for evermore.
