Ko te Atua, ko Tōku Piringa

Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi: Nekina. Nā Rāwiri.

1 Whakarongo, e te Atua, ki tāku karanga;

tahuri mai ki tāku īnoi.

2 Ka karanga ahau ki a koe i te pito o te whenua,

ina pēhia tōku ngākau.

Ārahina ahau ki te kōhatu

e tiketike ake ana i ahau.

3 He piringa hoki koe mōku;

he pā kaha i te hoariri.

4 Ka noho ahau ki tōu tapenākara ake ake,

ka okioki ki ōu pākau hei piringa. Hera

5 Kua rongo nei hoki koe, e te Atua i āku kupu taurangi,

kua hōmai e koe te wāhi o te hunga e wehi ana ki tōu ingoa.

6 Ka whakaraneatia e koe ngā rā o te kīngi;

ōna tau ki ngā whakatupuranga katoa.

7 E noho ia i te aroaro o te Atua ake ake;

whakaritea mai he aroha, he pono, hei tiaki i a ia.

8 Pēnei ka hīmene ahau ki tōu ingoa ake ake;

ka whakamanā e ahau āku kupu taurangi i tēnei rā, i tēnei rā.

1 Hear my cry, O God;

Attend unto my prayer.

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed:

Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For thou hast been a refuge for me,

A strong tower from the enemy.

4 I will dwell in thy tabernacle for ever:

I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. [Selah

5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows:

Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.

6 Thou wilt prolong the king’s life;

His years shall be as many generations.

7 He shall abide before God for ever:

Oh prepare lovingkindness and truth, that they may preserve him.

8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever,

That I may daily perform my vows.
