Ko Hiona, te Pā o te Atua
He waiata, he hīmene mā ngā tama a Koraha.
1 He nui a Ihowā, kia nui hoki te whakamoemiti
ki a ia i te pā o tō tātou Atua, i te maunga o tōna tapu;
2 ātaahua ana te tairanga o Maunga Hiona,
ko tā te ao katoa e koa ai;
kei te taha ki te raki
te pā o te Kīngi nui.
3 E mātauria ana te Atua
i roto i ōna whare papai hei piringa.
4 Nā, huihui tahi mai ana ngā kīngi,
haere tahi atu ana rātou.
5 I kite rātou, mīharo iho;
raruraru ana, hohoro tonu atu.
6 Pā ana te wehi ki a rātou i reira, te mamae,
ānō he wahine e whānau ana.
7 E wāhia ana e koe
ngā kaipuke o Tarahihi ki te marangai.
8 Rite tonu ki tā mātou i rongo ai,
tā mātou i kite ai i roto i te pā o Ihowā o ngā mano,
i te pā o tō tātou Atua;
mā te Atua e whakapūmau ake ake. Hera
9 I whakaaroaro mātou ki tōu atawhai,
e te Atua, i waenganui o tōu temepara.
10 E te Atua, rite tahi ki tōu ingoa te whakamoemiti mōu,
tae noa atu ki ngā pito o te whenua;
kī tonu tōu matau i te tika.
11 Kia hari a Maunga Hiona,
kia koa ngā tamāhine a Hūrā
i āu whakaritenga.
12 Taiāwhiotia a Hiona, haere, ā kōpiko noa mai;
taua ōna pourewa,
13 maharatia ōna pekerangi,
tirohia ōna whare papai;
hei kōrerotanga mā koutou ki ēnei ake whakatupuranga.
14 Ko tēnei Atua hoki te Atua mō tātou ake ake.
Ko ia hei kaiārahi i a tātou ā mate noa.
A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1 Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised,
In the city of our God, in his holy mountain.
2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth,
Is mount Zion, on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.
3 God hath made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.
4 For, lo, the kings assembled themselves,
They passed by together.
5 They saw it, then were they amazed;
They were dismayed, they hasted away.
6 Trembling took hold of them there,
Pain, as of a woman in travail.
7 With the east wind
Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen
In the city of Jehovah of hosts, in the city of our God:
God will establish it for ever. [Selah
9 We have thought on thy lovingkindness, O God,
In the midst of thy temple.
10 As is thy name, O God,
So is thy praise unto the ends of the earth:
Thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Let mount Zion be glad,
Let the daughters of Judah rejoice,
Because of thy judgments.
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her;
Number the towers thereof;
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks;
Consider her palaces:
That ye may tell it to the generation following.
14 For this God is our God for ever and ever:
He will be our guide even unto death.
