Te Korōria o te Atua i Whakaaturia i te Kāpuatanga
Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He hīmene nā Rāwiri.
1 E kōrerotia ana e ngā rangi te korōria o te Atua;
ā, e whakaaturia ana e te kikorangi te mahi a ōna ringa.
2 E puaki ana te reo o tēnā rangi, o tēnā rangi,
e whakaatu mōhiotanga ana hoki tēnā pō, tēnā pō.
3 Kāhore he hamumu, kāhore he kupu,
kāhore e rangona tō rātou reo.
4 Kua puta tā rātou aho ki te whenua katoa,
ā rātou kupu, ā te pito rā anō o te ao.
Whakatūria ana e ia ki reira te tapenākara mō te rā;
5 ā, e puta ana ia me he tāne mārena hou
i tōna whare moenga, whakaī ana ia,
pērā ana me te tangata kaha e mea ana ki te oma whakataetae.
6 Ko tōna putanga kei tētahi pito o te rangi,
ā, whawhe noa ki tētahi pito;
kāhore hoki tētahi mea e ngaro i tōna mahana.
Te Ture a Ihowā
7 Tapatahi tonu te Ture a Ihowā,
he mea whakatahuri i te wairua;
pono tonu ngā whakaatu a Ihowā,
e whakawhaiwhakaaro ana i te kūare.
8 He tika ngā ako a Ihowā,
e whakahari ana i te ngākau,
he mā te whakahau a Ihowā,
e whakamārama ana i ngā kanohi.
9 He mā te wehi ki a Ihowā,
pūmau tonu ake ake,
he pono ngā whakaritenga a Ihowā,
tika kau anō.
10 Engari ēnā e hiahiatia ana i te kōura,
āe, i te tino kōura ahakoa maha;
reka atu i te honi,
i te māturuturutanga iho o ngā honikoma.
11 Nā ēnā anō tāu pononga i whakatūpato;
he nui te utu ki te puritia.
12 Ko wai e mātau ana ki ōna hē?
Whakamākia ōku hara puku.
13 Puritia anō tāu pononga kei riro i ngā hara
whakakake hei rangatira mōku;
ko reira ahau tū tika ai,
ā, ka wātea i te hē nui.
14 Kia manakohia ngā kupu a tōku māngai;
me ngā whakaaro o tōku ngākau i tōu aroaro,
e Ihowā, e tōku kāmaka, e tōku kaihoko.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament showeth his handiwork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech,
And night unto night showeth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language;
Their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.
In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoiceth as a strong man to run his course.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens,
And his circuit unto the ends of it;
And there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul:
The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart:
The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever:
The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned:
In keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who can discern his errors?
Clear thou me from hidden faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me:
Then shall I be upright,
And I shall be clear from great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in thy sight,
O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer.
