He Īnoi mō Hiruhārama

He waiata; he pikitanga. Nā Rāwiri.

1 I koa ahau i tā rātou meatanga mai ki ahau,

"Tātou ka haere ki te whare o Ihowā!"

2 E tū ana ō mātou waewae

ki ōu tatau, e Hiruhārama.

3 Ko te hanganga o Hiruhārama,

rite tonu ki tō te pā kua tūhonohonoa ki a ia anō.

4 Hāereere ana ki reira ngā iwi,

ngā iwi o Ihowā,

ki tō Īharaira whakaaturanga,

ki te whakawhetai ki te ingoa o Ihowā.

5 Kua whakatūria hoki ki reira ngā torōna whakawā,

ngā torōna o te whare o Rāwiri.

6 Īnoia he āta noho mō Hiruhārama:

"Ka whiwhi ki te pai te hunga e aroha ana ki a koe.

7 Kia mau te rongo ki ōu taiepa,

me te pai ki ōu whare kīngi."

8 He mea mō ōku tēina, mō ōku hoa,

tāku e mea nei, "Kia mau te rongo ki roto ki a koe."

9 He whakaaro ki te whare o Ihowā, o tō tātou Atua,

ka rapu ahau i te pai mōu.

1 I was glad when they said unto me,

Let us go unto the house of Jehovah.

2 Our feet are standing

Within thy gates, O Jerusalem,

3 Jerusalem, that art builded

As a city that is compact together;

4 Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of Jehovah,

For an ordinance for Israel,

To give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

5 For there are set thrones for judgment,

The thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

They shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls,

And prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes,

I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God

I will seek thy good.
