He Hīmene Whakawhetai

Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He hīmene, he waiata.

1 Hāmama, e te whenua katoa, ki te Atua!

2 Hīmenetia te korōria o tōna ingoa,

kia whai korōria te whakamoemiti ki a ia.

3 Mea atu ki te Atua, "Anō te wehi o āu mahi!

Mā te nui o tōu kaha e ngohengohe ai ōu hoariri ki a koe.

4 E koropiko katoa te whenua ki a koe;

ka hīmene ki a koe;

ka hīmene rātou ki tōu ingoa." Hera

5 Haere mai kia kite i ngā mahi a te Atua:

mataku rawa tāna mahi ki ngā tama a te tangata.

6 Nāna i mea te moana hei tuawhenua;

haere ā-waewae ana rātou rā roto i te awa;

hari ana mātou ki a ia i reira.

7 Ko tōna kāwanatanga tūturu tonu i runga i tōna kaha;

e titiro ana ōna kanohi ki ngā tauiwi;

kei whakakake te hunga tutū. Hera

8 Whakapaingia tō tātou Atua, e ngā iwi;

kia rangona te reo whakamoemiti ki a ia.

9 Nāna nei hoki i mau ai tō tātou wairua ki te ora,

kāhore hoki e tukua e ia ō tātou waewae kia nekehia.

10 Kua whakamātauria hoki mātou e koe, e te Atua;

whakarewaia ana mātou e koe,

ānō he hiriwa e whakarewaia ana.

11 Kua kawea nei mātou e koe ki roto ki te kupenga;

whakapīkaua ana e koe te mea whakamamae ki ō mātou hope.

12 I meinga anō e koe ō mātou upoko kia ekengia hōihotia e te tangata;

i rā roto mātou i te kāpura, i te wai;

heoi whakaputaina mai ana mātou e koe ki te wāhi mōmona.

13 Ka tomo ahau me ngā tahunga tinana ki tōu whare;

ka whakamana ahau i āku kupu taurangi ki a koe,

14 ērā i puaki i ōku ngutu,

i kōrerotia e tōku māngai i ahau e pōuri ana.

15 Ka whakaekea e ahau māu ngā mea mōmona hei tahunga tinana,

ngātahi anō me te mea kakara o ngā hipi toa;

ka tukua e ahau he pūru, he koati. Hera

16 Haere mai, whakarongo, e koutou katoa e wehi ana ki te Atua,

ā, māku e whakapuaki tāna i mea ai ki tōku wairua.

17 I tangi tōku māngai ki a ia;

i whakanuia anō ia e tōku arero.

18 Ki te whakaaroa e tōku ngākau te hē,

e kore te Ariki e whakarongo mai.

19 Nei rā he pono kua whakarongo te Atua,

kua tahuri ia ki tōku reo īnoi.

20 Kia whakapaingia te Atua,

kīhai nei i whakapeau kē i tāku īnoi,

i tāna atawhai hoki ki ahau.

1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth:

2 Sing forth the glory of his name:

Make his praise glorious.

3 Say unto God, How terrible are thy works!

Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

4 All the earth shall worship thee,

And shall sing unto thee;

They shall sing to thy name. [Selah

5 Come, and see the works of God;

He is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.

6 He turned the sea into dry land;

They went through the river on foot:

There did we rejoice in him.

7 He ruleth by his might for ever;

His eyes observe the nations:

Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. [Selah

8 Oh bless our God, ye peoples,

And make the voice of his praise to be heard;

9 Who holdeth our soul in life,

And suffereth not our feet to be moved.

10 For thou, O God, hast proved us:

Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

11 Thou broughtest us into the net;

Thou layedst a sore burden upon our loins.

12 Thou didst cause men to ride over our heads;

We went through fire and through water;

But thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

13 I will come into thy house with burnt-offerings;

I will pay thee my vows,

14 Which my lips uttered,

And my mouth spake, when I was in distress.

15 I will offer unto thee burnt-offerings of fatlings,

With the incense of rams;

I will offer bullocks with goats. [Selah

16 Come, and hear, all ye that fear God,

And I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

17 I cried unto him with my mouth,

And he was extolled with my tongue.

18 If I regard iniquity in my heart,

The Lord will not hear:

19 But verily God hath heard;

He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

20 Blessed be God,

Who hath not turned away my prayer,

Nor his lovingkindness from me.
