He Whakamoemiti ki te Kaihanga

1 Tēnā, kia waiata tātou ki a Ihowā;

kia hari te hāmama ki te kāmaka o tō tātou whakaoranga.

2 Kia haere tātou me te whakawhetai atu ki tōna aroaro;

kia ngahau hoki ā tātou hīmene ki a ia.

3 Nō te mea he Atua nui hoki a Ihowā,

he Kīngi nui i ngā atua katoa.

4 Kei tōna ringa ngā wāhi hōhonu o te whenua;

ā, nāna ngā maunga teitei.

5 Nāna te moana, nāna anō i hanga,

ā, nā ōna ringa i whai āhua ai te whenua maroke.

6 Haere mai tātou, kia koropiko, kia tuohu;

kia tukua ngā turi ki te aroaro o Ihowā, o tō tātou Kaihanga.

7 Ko ia hoki tō tātou Atua;

ko tātou tāna iwi e hēpara ai,

ngā hipi a tōna ringa.

Ki te rongo koutou ki tōna reo āianei!

8 Kaua e whakapakeketia ō koutou ngākau,

kei pērā me o te whakatoinga,

me o te rā o te whakamātautauranga i te koraha;

9 i ahau i whakamātautauria e ō koutou mātua,

i āta mōhiotia, i tō rātou kitenga anō hoki i āku mahi.

10 E whā tekau ngā tau i hōhā ai ahau ki tēnei whakatupuranga,

nā, ka mea ahau; "He iwi ngākau kotiti kē rātou,

kāhore hoki rātou e mōhio ki āku ara."

11 Nā reira i riri ai ahau, i oati ai hoki;

"E kore rātou e tae ki tōku okiokinga."

1 Oh come, let us sing unto Jehovah;

Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving;

Let us make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

3 For Jehovah is a great God,

And a great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth;

The heights of the mountains are his also.

5 The sea is his, and he made it;

And his hands formed the dry land.

6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

Let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker:

7 For he is our God,

And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

To-day, oh that ye would hear his voice!

8 Harden not your heart, as at Meribah,

As in the day of Massah in the wilderness;

9 When your fathers tempted me,

Proved me, and saw my work.

10 Forty years long was I grieved with that generation,

And said, It is a people that do err in their heart,

And they have not known my ways:

11 Wherefore I sware in my wrath,

That they should not enter into my rest.
